GRASP has an opening for a part-time college financial aid advisor to work at Bath County and/or Highland County high schools during the school year. Advisors are assigned to a particular school 1-2 days per week during the school year. All training is provided: 2 – 4 days per year in Richmond or virtually.

A GRASP Advisor provides individualized advising to students and parents regarding how best to pay for post-secondary education. This Advisor would join with all staff in GRASP’s continuous development work in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion - with those efforts directly furthering GRASP’s mission. The usual candidate has a heart for helping students, is committed to the community, and understands the confidentiality of student information.

While helpful, prior expertise in college financial aid is not required as all necessary information is provided in the training program. Similarly, while familiarity with language(s) in addition to English would be beneficial, it is not a requirement for this position. A college degree is required. As this position will work directly with students in public schools, a background check is required. To learn more about GRASP and its staff of advisors, go to www.grasp4va.org. To apply for the position, contact GRASP via email: info@grasp4va.org.

GRASP is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment. Accordingly, all terms and conditions of employment will be carried out without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, age, disability, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), veteran status, genetic information, or any other factor protected by federal, state, or local law.
